At long last, some opportune news: as hinted by Hideki Sakamoto’s Twitter account, the Noisycroak label will be publishing the soundtrack for the upcoming PS3 Move title Echochrome II, in an original release under the name Mugen Kairou Hikari To Kage no Hako: a Soundtrack (a translation of it could be Infinite Corridor: Box of Light and Shadow). This disc is scheduled for release solely in Japan on the 29th of December - more or less a week after the release of the game on the PSN - containing but a single music track entitled Prime # 4507, which lasts 75 minutes and 07 seconds. You may recall this information having been posted here when the footage of the actual essays and studio recording of the album were being broadcast live. In spite of the new daring single-track structure, the composer used a similar array of instruments to those employed in the recording of the first game’s soundtrack, but now adding sporadic piano melodies to blend with the string quartet and voice. This release will also include a multiple-page booklet including game artwork, information about Sakamoto and interviews.
A little taster of what promises to be one of the greatest triumphs in game music this year can be heard during the E3 official trailer. For more information, visit the official website.
