COREGAMERS | COREGAMING: DIEUBUSSY | PIXELS AT AN EXHIBITION
BACKGROUND ART BY OSAMU SATO, 1995

Coinciding with Katsumi Yokota’s birthday today, I now bring this series of Rez unpublished artworks to an end. These originated from a small but impressive batch of unnamed compositions and studies that were created by the art director during production phase. Stored away in his and a few other team member’s hard drives, these pictures have been concealed from the public for over a decade - until now.
Trapped in the deepest of slumbers, Eden is once again represented in her quietude and beauty, the hacker’s avatar approaching her while the pulsating final form. Since this is a post about Mizuguchi’s masterpiece, I take the opportunity to advertise my old Rez website I created in late 2002, by the time I first played the Dreamcast version of the game. I’ve been thinking about updating it but I never seem to find the time to do so.
