Hideki Sakamoto livestreams Echochrome II OST recording(s)
Just a brief interruption of the calm to bring the news that somehow mitigated the adverse effects that Summer inflicts upon me: Hideki Sakamoto was once again chosen to compose and orchestrate the music for Sony’s upcoming title Echochrome II, one that will be based on PS Move technology as advertised during the otherwise dull Sony E3 presentation from weeks ago. As you may be aware of, Sakamoto was the composer of the first soundtrack and is - beyond doubt - an extremely talented musician - apart from being a wonderful and generous man.
This is a video record of a live stream exhibited some hours ago over at Sakamoto’s UStream page, concerning the first of multiple recording sessions, already lifting the veil of this score based on one single track. If the internet has ever offered me with something wonderful of late, it was no doubt the chance to witness the live recording of a game soundtrack (surely an unprecedented initiative as far as I can remember) that I am bound to know by heart very soon. The next session will be available this Friday around 13 o clock (Japan time) and can be viewed here by all those interested in the work of the composer; or those who simply wish to learn more about the videogame music recording process.
